INSURANCE REPORTS - FLAT ROOFS
What is an insurance inspection report?
Insurance companies need to know about the condition & pre existing/historic issues with your flat roof, before the start date of your policy. This is to prevent insurance being undertaken & claims for previous issues (that were apparent before the policy start date) being made under the new policy. Some insurance companies will still insure your property if your flat roof is defective, but they may write exemptions into the policy wording. If you have ongoing water ingress, have a roofing contractor repair the issue before you instruct us to conduct a flat roof insurance report. If your roof is knowingly defective, you could also use our roof survey service to acquire a detailed defect report and recommended remedial works, along with cost guidance & up to date workmanship specification.
What is the process?
1. Contact us to book an inspection date – we will require internal access & will usually use a drone for external inspection if accessibility is not available by foot. Our deposit for booking a date is £100 +VAT
2. Our operative will attend & conduct the survey.
3. PDF reports are usually prepared on Fridays. The remaining balance is invoiced when the report is ready, and the report is sent upon receiving cleared funds.
** Please note, our service is an honest and respected service amongst the insurance industry. We are obliged to report findings from flat roof insurance reports honestly. Our fee will still be due if your flat roof is defective. See below for more information.
Flat Roof Insurance Report Important Information
Please note that our insurance report fee is charged to cover travel costs, an operative attending the property, the conducting of the report and preparing of the PDF format with supporting images. Our fee is payable regardless of the findings. We cannot/and will not waive our fee if your flat roof is defective. The purpose of the report is for insurance companies to rule out previous issues that were apparent prior to your policy start date. You will not necessarily be refused insurance if your flat roof is defective, but the flat roof and internal area within close proximity may be exempt from any claims. This decision is that of your insurance company, and not ours. Our service is designed to provide the report & evidence, and is recognised as acceptable by all insurance companies who seek a flat roof inspection report.
